Bring Me Sunshine

Bring Me Sunshine was a piece of artwork commissioned by the ArtWaves Festival in Bridlington that took place in November 2022.  Taking inspiration the historical slot machines of the laughing clown and fortune teller and also the aesthetic of seaside sideshows I created a life size movable box and collocated with performers who embodied the characters of 'Mystic Ange' (Ruth Getz) and 'Tickles the Clown' (Michelle Dee).  Audiences were invited to have a song of wisdom sung to them by Mystic Ange or to cheer up Tickles the Clown by telling them jokes.  Below is a short film by Codhead which captures the joy and enthusiasm of both the performers and audience.
